Down Among The Rabbit Hole

Where have I been? I feel like I am Alice and I just stepped out of the rabbit hole!

I am well aware that I am not updated with new series and new books that are coming out lately. But that’s because I made a resolution to myself that I need to finish all the completed series that I have on my shelf before diving into a new one; it’s because I may not finish the series if I did not push myself to read up to the last book.

But I have been watching BookTube A LOT. I’ve developed a habit lately of watching a video after I finish a chapter or two. But never, I mean NEVER have I heard ANYTHING about these books! Am I watching and following the wrong people? But…
THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY GETTING ANOTHER NOVEL AND THE LEGEND TRILOGY IS NO LONGER A TRILOGY BECAUSE THERE WILL BE A 4TH AND FINAL BOOK.

How can those people not talk about it?!?! I knew the hype about The Hunger Games and Legend back in the days. I feel so betrayed. I have definitely heard about the additional books coming for the Juliette Chronicles (aka Shatter Me) and also about the spin off for Mara Dyer. But come on! Legend?!?!? The Hunger Games?!?!

Okay, I am not that baffled when it comes to The Hunger Games because the book will come out on 2020. And I saw it on Goodreads Newsletter. I am getting another 250 pages of The Hunger Games again! Though the book is set 64 years before the trilogy, I would definitely take anything that revolves around that world.

The book is still untitled and there is no cover yet but here is the synopsis! (If you could call it that.)

SYNOPSIS:

Suzanne Collins on the Hunger Games prequel: “With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

The book is set 64 years before the events of the original trilogy.

Expected Date of Publication: May 19, 2020

Now, shall we talk about Legend?? Because first, it is no longer a trilogy (surprise!), there will be a 4th and final book in Eden’s POV. But… it is coming out this 2019!! This October 1, 2019 to be exact. HOW COME people are not talking about it? Or adding it on their Want to Read shelf in Goodreads or even listing it as their most anticipated book of 2019? I thought it was a novella when I saw the cover on Marie Lu’s IG post today (I’m stalking her on my bookstagram account, which I haven’t open in awhile) and when I search the book on Goodreads, I was so shocked. I cannot comprehend the fact that Champion is no longer the last book and the new last book, Rebel, will come out in less than 4 months but I only heard about it now. Where have I been? In Wonderland?

So if there is anyone of you, who like me, have not heard about this book, here is the book cover and synopsis.

SYNOPSIS:

Respect the Legend. Idolize the Prodigy. Celebrate the Champion. But never underestimate the Rebel.

With unmatched suspense and her signature cinematic storytelling, #1 New York Times–bestselling author Marie Lu plunges readers back into the unforgettable world of Legend for a truly grand finale.

Eden Wing has been living in his brother’s shadow for years. Even though he’s a top student at his academy in Ross City, Antarctica, and a brilliant inventor, most people know him only as Daniel Wing’s little brother.

A decade ago, Daniel was known as Day, the boy from the streets who led a revolution that saved the Republic of America. But Day is no longer the same young man who was once a national hero. These days he’d rather hide out from the world and leave his past behind. All that matters to him now is keeping Eden safe―even if that also means giving up June, the great love of Daniel’s life.

As the two brothers struggle to accept who they’ve each become since their time in the Republic, a new danger creeps into the distance that’s grown between them. Eden soon finds himself drawn so far into Ross City’s dark side, even his legendary brother can’t save him. At least not on his own . . .

Expected Date of Publication: October 1, 2019

This felt like a rambling post but I want to be serious now.

I am very excited to get a new novel from these two worlds. But I am a little hesitant, especially with the so-called final book of the Legend series (feels weird that to call it a series & not a trilogy). Even though there are aspects of Champion that I did not like, I am satisfied with how things ended. I am hesitant when it comes to diving back to this world from a new POV. Shatter Me & Mara Dyer spin-off are fine by me because I am still in the same POV as those whom I have read before. I know them by heart, heck some of them I am thankful to finally have a POV because the novella is too short for them (ehem Kenji). But I have never really known Eden. Heck, I don’t even know who he is until I read the synopsis and realized that he is Day’s brother. He just doesn’t play a big role in the whole trilogy (in my mind & I even forgot about his name) and now we are wrapping it up from his POV.

I am excited and nervous to read Rebel but I am surely anticipating the new Hunger Games novel.

Anyways, I’ll leave you to that. Thank you for reading this mess of a blog post. Let me know when did you hear about these books (and how come you did not tell me??) in the comments.

Till next time!

Maria ❤
