As I was thinking of my top 5 book boyfriends, I feel like top 5 is not enough. So here I am with my top 10 book boyfriends. Before anything else I would like to tell you that these boys are mine and mine alone, just kidding. Ranking it from the least to my most loved boyfriend.
10. NATE from Goodbye, Rebel Blue by Shelley Coriell
Most of my boyfriends here on my list is a bad ass or a bad boy. I am attracted to guys with “bad boy” image. But Nate is the opposite of them. He is a good boy. He is dedicated to his work and he is family oriented. He looks after his family and he is disregarding his dream just to give way to the dream of his family. There is something about Nate that makes me love him. He is the type of guy who has planned everything, yet he was caught into a situation where things do not go according to plan.
9. GRAHAM LARKIN from This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
Graham, who is an actor but fell in love with someone whom he encountered through an accidental email. I find him sweet and I imagined him as Zac Efron, because why not? This guy teaches me that even though he is popular, he is also in need of love. And as he finds the love that he is longing for, he will do everything to pursue her. Come on, if an actor fell in love with you and he would do anything just so he can prove to you that he loves you and he doesn’t care about what other people would say and what would happen to his career would you reject him? Well, I don’t know about you guys but I won’t!
8. TOBIAS EATON from Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth
Four or Tobias Eaton. Now this is a bad ass guy that anyone wouldn’t want to mess with. I’m not a big fan of the Divergent Trilogy, but I guess Four is the reason why I continue the trilogy. I know there are times when you will be annoyed with Four-Tris relationship, well I’m mostly annoyed of Tris for being impulsive, but I am really annoyed with the overall flow of their relationship. But as an individual character, Four will surely be in my top 10. He is a bad ass, and although he may look tough there is a side of him which is only shown to a chosen few.
7. CARSON from Don’t Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
If you haven’t read this book, well read it! I see Carson as a boy-next-door type of guy. He is not rich, not even popular but he is sweet. And the way he expresses his feelings not only through words but also through actions would make you fall for him! He is the type of guy who captured the heart of a girl not by his wealth or looks, although he is handsome, but by his charm. He will never give up on the people he value and love.
6. JAMES CARSTAIRS from The Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare
I know that most people love Will Herondale more than they love Jem, and it’s fine by me. Will is something indeed, but Jem captured my heart. He is a gentleman and he is not as complicated as Will. I know he is sick, but I don’t care. It makes me love him even more. Let me quote Jem’s word to Tessa that makes me want to pull him out of the book and hug him.
“I cannot explain love. I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you, or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you. That you were the center of everything I did and felt and thought.”
Well if you still don’t love Jem, you have a problem.
5. PETER KAVINSKY from To All The Boys Duology by Jenny Han
To be honest I have a love and hate relationship with Peter. I loved him at times but I am quite annoyed by how insensitive he was. I think the main reason for the conflict in his relationship with Lara Jean is the lacked of communication. And the thing is, he is not a loyal boyfriend! I don’t care if that girl is your best friend or she is very special to you, I am your girlfriend so you should always put me first over her! But still when you understand his reason and when you see his sincerity, you would surely love him. Though I might have put him higher on this list if only he is loyal!
4. AKIVA from the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor
Now this guy truly is an angel. I really don’t know how to explain how much I love him and why I love him. Maybe because he is created by Laini Taylor, my queen. The story is weaved perfectly that you would just feel a certain attachment to the character after reading the book, and that’s how I felt after reading Akiva’s story. You can feel Akiva’s grief and every pain that he’s been through while reading the book. And of course, the way he expresses his love. Girls would want to have a guy who loves them as much as Akiva loves Madrigal. He is loyal and he will do anything, which includes risking his life, for the girl he loves.
3. NOAH ELIOT SIMON SHAW from Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin
Another bad boy. But the thing that I loved most about Noah is he knows what he wants. There is no room for other girls. You’re the only one. If he likes you then he will be straightforward about it. You don’t have to worry about other girls and all you need is trust in Noah and his love for you.
2. AARON WARNER ANDERSON from Shatter Me Trilogy by Tahereh Mafi
Warner. Well, he is like Noah. You don’t have to worry about having a rival when it comes to his love, he is loyal. But another thing that makes me love Warner, even more, is his ability to push Juliette to her limits. His trust in Juliette’s capabilities and how he supported Juliette in every step of the way. And like Four, he has two sides which are only revealed to the people he trusts. And also, he is so bad ass! I know, another bad boy.
1. DIMITRI BELIKOV from the Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
Dimitri is a god, like a Greek God. He is the summary of my top 2-10. He is dedicated to his work like Nate. Tough yet has a soft side like Four, Noah, and Warner. He is a gentleman like Carson. His undying love for the girl he loves is similar to Akiva and Jem. He is also like Graham who is humble even though people admire him. But like Peter he pissed me off at times; nevertheless, he is my one and only (okay not only, but my number 1).
If you want to know more about them, check their story and you would learn to love them on your own. For now, these are the boys that captured my heart, there may or may not be some changes in the near future but all I know is if ever a guy like them exist, I’ll hunt them and make them mine! By the way, some of the images of the boys on my list are how I portray them in my mind. 🙂
