All About, 2021

2020 was a year of uncertainty and fear. I lost my job right when the pandemic hit our country. Finding a new job was challenging since most of the establishments are closing due to lockdowns.

2021 was the year of loss, grief, self-doubt, and self-discovery.

Chat with me: Life Update & Blog Vision

Happy Saturday morning! (At least in my time zone that is.) Hi! It’s been a while. Lately, I have been all over the place and I can’t manage my time well. A lot of things are going on and I just wanted to write about what is happening in my life right now. I want to look back in my blog and not only see my growth in reading but also my mind space at that time.

So here I am now with my life update and my blog vision. I have a lot of ideas that I wanted to post but I have yet to sit down and really put my mind into it.

So grab your morning coffee, tea, or any drinks you like, and let’s have a chat.

Recent Reads (July 06-12, 2020)

During the weeks where I feel like I have not been reading much, I always contemplate as to whether a weekly check-in is necessary. But I realized that this is the only constant thing that I’ve been doing since I started this and I don’t want to slack off. So here we are now.

Once again, I am into sleeping rather than reading during the weekend and I only managed to finish one book for this week which is not bad. At least I finished a book, right?

So let’s talk about the book that I am currently reading and the book that I managed to finish this week.

Happy Monday everyone! I can’t believe that June is already gone and July is already on its 6th day. And here I am, not reading much.

I took some time off in reading when June ended and I have yet to pick up my reading phase. I’ve been reading a couple of pages at night before sleeping but I have not finished any books for this month.

So today, we are only talking about the books that I am currently reading.😅 So without further ado, let’s get into it!

Recent Reads (June 22-28, 2020)

Hello, fellow bookworms! Another week has passed again which means it’s time for me to look back at my reading week. Doing this weekly wrap-up is quite fun as I can keep track of how well I am reading for a week.

Reading-wise, I am not reading as much as before. For this month, I am into reading physical books. No audio, no ebook. And it felt good, especially when it lessens my physical TBR. However, the number of books that I’ve read was fewer than last month as I am only reading during my free time at work and before bed. But still, I am having a good time and I am hoping to carry over this habit next month.

But with my chitchat aside, I managed to finished 2 books and 1 novella for this week and I am very excited to talk about it. So let’s get into the books.

Recent Reads (June 15-21, 2020)

So… This blog post was supposed to be posted last Monday but I forgot to edit it because I worked overtime for 2 hours. I was so exhausted and drained after my shift is over that I lay down in bed after eating dinner and taking a shower. So here is a late recently reads post instead.

The month of June felt shorter and faster than any other month. Only a couple of days left and it’s all over. Funnily enough, I haven’t been reading much but I am enjoying the books that I’ve picked up and it felt like rekindling my love for reading.

My TBR for this month is almost halfway done but I was hoping to get more reading so I hope I can finish all of it in the next few days.

So without further ado, here are the books that I finished and I am currently reading.

Recent Reads (June 08-14, 2020)

I was hoping against all hope that I can read and finish a lot of books this week because of our country’s Independence Day fell on a Friday, which means a long weekend for me. But sleep is always calling me, considering how the weather is both gloomy and cold.

Even so, I managed to finish two books, though one is less than 200 pages. I think audiobook has become my best friend once again, as it is my only means of getting through books lately.

I’ll keep this intro short. So let’s get into the books.

Recent Reads (May 25-31, 2020)

Time is a notion that has vanished to a lot of us since the start of the quarantine period. The months that we have been staying at home feel too long and yet it felt like time is passing by so fast. May is already over, and we are now on the 6th month of the year, already halfway there.

I have been slacking with my reading in the past week but I managed to finish 3 books for this week. I wish this reading kick would continue since I decided to join a readathon. Hopefully,  I will get a lot of reading done for this week too.

Now, let’s get into the book that I am currently reading and the books that I finished.

Campaign: The Epics of Enkidu – A Hero with Autism

Books like any other art has become a medium of raising awareness to the masses. From LGBTQ+ characters to a much heavier topics, stories have become diverse as years passed by. And seeing books as not only a means of pleasure, entertainment, and informative learning but also as a platform to reach out to others and spread awareness has made the reading experience more meaningful than it used to be.

In the past few years, we have seen diverse characters that do not only differ from their skin color, race, and gender. Not only that, but mental health issues have also been a topic for books. Diversity has helped us understand others whose experience has never been known to us and it also gives us something to connect to when we feel like others could not really understand us.

Now, we are presented once again with a literary piece that could help us understand what autism is like and how we can help spread awareness about it.

epics-of-enkidu-cover

The Epic of Enkidu is a comic that tells the story of a hero with autism. The story was inspired by the author’s nephew and The Epic of Gilgamesh, a Mesopotamian myth.

There is a fundraising campaign that the author created to help out the autism community. So by buying a copy of this book, you can be a big help to the autism community that the author will help out. There are other perks along with the book if you are interested.

Check out the video down below for more info about the campaign. And for more details on how you can help out, head over to The Epics of Enkidu Project.

I hope you guys would help out, if not in monetary means, kindly spread the word about it.

Please and thank you!

Happy Monday everyone! It’s a new week, which means it’s time to look back in the past week as to what I have read and what I am currently reading.

I have not been reading much lately, either through audiobooks or physical books. My sleeping pattern was quite messed up and I really can’t function much every day because I feel so sleepy, and yet I can’t sleep at night. Oh the struggle.

But I managed to finish 1 book and 1 novella. I am not pressuring myself that much because I am so ahead in my Goodreads goal that I feel confident to slow down a little. So I will quit the chitchat and dive into the books.
