October to December 2020 Wrap-up

I am fully aware that most people have already posted their best and worst of the year. But here I am, wrapping up my reading year.

From January up until September, I managed to post a wrap-up after every month. But I decided to skip the wrap-up in October when I only managed to finish two books. And for November and December, I ended up finishing one book for each month.

So here is my quarterly wrap-up instead. Let’s get into the books!

Cosmerealong Wrap-up

Back in February, I decided to participate in a year-long readalong for the Cosmereverse. I really do not know why they did not continue on with the readalong, but I tried my hardest to read in the given schedule on my own.

Brandon Sanderson is an author that was well-known for his fantasy books. I always wanted to pick his words, but I do not have the motivation to do so. And I think this is a good reason to finally pick up his works.

I thoroughly enjoyed some of the books, but I ended up giving up on most of it. So, here is my wrap-up and the reason (or a rant) as to what happened.

July 2020 Wrap-up and Book Haul

The month of July passed by like a blur. It is a long month, for me, as a lot of things happened that affected me and my work. It was a long and good ride, but somehow I have seen this coming.

Anyway, I am not being sentimental today. I am here to do a wrap-up, which is a bit late. The beginning of the month was not as good as other months, but I managed to catch up with my reading near the end. So for this month, I managed to finish 10 books! However, I will not include the books that I have read during The Reading Rush as I already posted my wrap-up for that readathon. I will link that wrap-up down below if you have not check it out yet.

Also, I have an exciting book haul to show you guys. I only hauled 3 books for this month but they’re so beautiful.

Without further ado, let’s get into the wrap-up!

2020 The Reading Rush Wrap-up

Hi.

It’s been a week since I last posted anything in this blog. I was so engrossed with The Reading Rush that I did not even stop and sit down to blog. Also, my work week has been busy lately since we have a lot to do so I only managed to read during the night. I also did not read on Sunday so that makes my reading days a day shorter. Plus, Taylor Swift drops a new album so I have to drop everything, reading included, to listen to Folklore.

But before I proceed with my wrap-up, I want to talk about the issues going around for this round of The Reading Rush. It was quite disappointing how insensitive the hosts are with what was happening during this time. I think the first issue is the reading challenge to read outside the house, which most of us can’t do because of the pandemic. The hosts resolved that by saying that it is up to us to interpret that challenge, like reading a book with the word OUTSIDE on the title or whatsoever though some still think that they did not even consider what was happening. However, what truly disappoints me is the issue with regards to the book group, which holds a very powerful topic with regards to raising awareness with the black community. I just hope that they will reflect on their actions and learn from it. They have such a powerful voice as an influencer in the book community and I hope they will use it right.

Okay, now that is all said and done, let’s get into my wrap-up. I don’t want to make this long but I just wanted to point that out.

June 2020 Wrap-up and Book Haul

June has finally bid goodbye and July has finally come. I am very excited for July because it’s my birth month! I have a lot of reading plans but nothing is final yet because The Reading Rush is also happening this month.

But this blog is not about my reading plans for July but my wrap-up for June. I did not read a lot of books for this month but I am happy with all the books that I have read. And most of them are physical copy which is a habit that I was hoping to carry over for July.

I managed to finish 7 books though 2 of which are less than 200 pages. But I also have 1 book that I DNF-ed which is a relief on my part. I also have some exciting books to show you that I hauled this month. So without further ado, let’s get into my wrap-up and book haul!

April 2020 Wrap-up & Book Haul

The end of April marks the end of another month which means that I, along with everybody else, is stuck at home for almost 2 months now. But along the environment and the ozone layer healing itself with this quarantine, I am doing quite well with reading books. I managed to finish 12 books for April.

This will be a very long wrap-up so I’ll make this intro short. I’ll be linking my full review of the books in this wrap-up if I have any. Okay let’s get into the books!

Stay Home Reading Rush Wrap-Up

This mini readathon is really a fun one until I get to read my last book. I was on track with reading one book per day, given that the book that I am reading is quite short and not more than 200 pages. But the last book on my TBR is my biggest downfall and even though I managed to finished 3 books, I am still disappointed with myself.

I have managed to complete 3 challenges by reading 3 books. So let’s get into this wrap-up and talk about the books that I have read.

January 2020 Wrap-up and Book Haul

I can’t believe that we only have 11 months left for the new year. Time surely flies when you are having a good time.

My 2020 reading year is doing quite well. I finally managed to find the jive in reading and working. I think it also helps that I worked from home 4 times a week and I only go to the office once a week. I have been doing a lot of reading with the help of audiobook and it is life changing.

With that being said I read a total of 8 books this month. Which is surprising! I have never read that much in a month and I am excited to share with you the books that I have read. So without further ado, let’s dive into the books!

Top 5 Books of 2019

I’m finally closing my year of reading with a quick recap of my whole reading year before diving into my top 5 books. Unlike other readers, I feel like the amount of reading that I make would not suffice for a top 10 books of the year so I am narrowing it down to 5. I would probably do a top 10 if I managed to read more than 100 books in a year.

Okay I will quit blabbing and let’s get into the recap. (Thanks to Goodreads!)

56 books and 17,393 pages. An achievement if you asked me.

2019 is a year of series for me. I managed to finish a lot of series this year and I feel so proud, even my bookshelves are proud of me. So I decided that this top 5 books will only consist of 1 book per series that I have finished, if ever they make it to my top 5 books.

So without further ado, here is my TOP 5 BOOKS of 2019!

Reading Rush Wrap-Up

Hi friends! I know that The Reading Rush is over for more than a week now. But being the lazy person that I was, I am only wrapping it up now. I can say that I am successful with this readathon even though I haven’t manage to finish all 7 books in a week. I might have done that if I have chosen shorter books but where’s the fun in that?

Anyways, here is a quick overview of how my Reading Rush went.

Stat

If I haven’t slacked off on day 4 and 5 I might have read more books than just 5. Also I have managed to accomplished a couple of the challenges. I really tried very hard for this readathon because I like the badges! So here are all the badges that I have acquired in this year’s Reading Rush.

I think it’s about time for the wrap-up! I haven’t posted my full reviews for all the books that I have read but it’s coming. So with that being said, let’s proceed with the wrap-up.
