Recent Reads (June 15-21, 2020)

So… This blog post was supposed to be posted last Monday but I forgot to edit it because I worked overtime for 2 hours. I was so exhausted and drained after my shift is over that I lay down in bed after eating dinner and taking a shower. So here is a late recently reads post instead.

The month of June felt shorter and faster than any other month. Only a couple of days left and it’s all over. Funnily enough, I haven’t been reading much but I am enjoying the books that I’ve picked up and it felt like rekindling my love for reading.

My TBR for this month is almost halfway done but I was hoping to get more reading so I hope I can finish all of it in the next few days.

So without further ado, here are the books that I finished and I am currently reading.

Currently Reading 📖

The Well of Ascension

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

↠I am only 15% into this book but it has finally piqued my interest. The story is finally taking a good turn. However, I feel like I have read more than 15% the last time that I was listening to it on audiobook. This is really taking me so long to finally like it. And it’s longer than I want it to be.

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

↠I am enjoying this book a lot. I have not read the book nor seen the movie but I already love it. I can fly through this book in a day if I put my mind into it but I keep on jotting down notes about the gods and goddesses and the creatures present in the story. I am making my own handy-dandy notebook for Percy Jackson references. I am already halfway through the book and hopefully, I can finish it and start the second book before the weekend comes.

↠I enjoy this book so much. The penpal trope is well-executed just the way I like it. And the whole plot was good. I just think that the story has a lot of elements to it that some scenes that I hope were fleshed out more was left to the reader’s imagination. But all in all, the story and the romance are enjoyable. Highly recommend.

So that is all for my late weekly wrap-up. I hope you guys will have a great reading week.

Until next time!
