It’s been awhile since I last join a readathon. I was still undecided if I should join or not but I found myself searching for books that could match the prompts for this round of the reading rush. And so as not to waste my effort, I finally decided to join.
The reading rush will run from April 16 (Thursday) up to April 19 (Sunday). This is shorter than the normal reading rush but who cares? Just as long as I found a new excuse to read 4 books in 4 days.
I decided to have a wide range of variety for this readathon. My normal genre is mystery/thriller, dystopian, sci-fi and fantasy but this time, I plan to read different genre. I have chosen a horror classics, a YA romance contemporary, middle grade (?) & a New Adult contemporary; and these genres are not something that I usually reach out to and a readathon is a good way to push myself to read these genres.
So here are the prompts for this round:
Now let’s get into the books that I plan to read for this reading rush!
Read a book with a house on the cover.
The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
I tend to read horror, mystery, thriller or suspense novel so fast. And this book is less than 200 pages. I don’t know what to expect but I am excited to read this book because I have never tried reading classics horror novel. Plus, my literature professor in college has already read it. And I like her reading taste so hopefully I will like it too.
Read a book in the same room the whole time.
Best Friends for Never (The Clique #2) by Lisi Harrison
Because I just finished the first book, might as well continue my reread of this series. Another book that is less than 200 plus the font is quite big. Plus, I tend to read these books fast. I can finish it in one sitting.
Read a book set somewhere you wish you could go.
London Belongs to Me by Jacquelyn Middleton
I always wanted to go to London because of Sherlock Holmes. I want to see the Sherlock Holmes Museum there. So might as well go to London through this book. And it’s not like I could go there when the quarantine was lifted.🤣
Read a book that will make you smile.
What I Like About You by Marisa Kanter
I am in the mood for some romance lately but I am looking for something that is up in my ally. And after reading the synopsis of this book, I could already tell that this is a book that could sate my craving for a romance novel. And I am sure this will make me smile from ear to ear.
So that is all for my Reading Rush TBR. Let me know if you guys are joining! You can also leave a comment of your TBR.
Until next time!
