Another week has gone by. And the past week feels like the most stressful and the longest week of my life. Our government is finally taking COVID-19 quite seriously. A lot of locals are slowly getting confined and are testing positive with the virus. And so, like every country that has a growing number of confirmed cases, we are on a quarantine.
It might look like an idealistic set-up for an introvert like me. I wouldn’t mind staying at home and just reading. I can work from home. But in reality, it is stressful. It’s like a looming presence at the back of your mind. You would constantly think and worry. And I realize that I am a little disoriented in the past week. I can’t focus, I can’t even sleep properly. And even though there are a lot of things going on, I still managed to finish some books.
And I think I have talked enough. So let’s get into the books.

Strangle Your Gods by Matt Prinz
I’ve been reading this book for a week now but I only managed to up to 24% of this book. The story was quite weird because there are two storyline and I could not see the relation of the other story with regards to the deaths that happened in this book. I even reread the synopsis and it felt quite misleading compared to the flow of the book. I am not that interested in this book and I am not liking it so far.
Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder
I am a Bachelor’s degree holder in Philosophy. And this is the book that our professor asked us to read back in our freshmen year in college when we have no clue as to what we are about to get ourselves into. But I did not finished this book back then because it felt daunting to me. But I am buddy reading this now with my college best friend and we are enjoying the refresher. And we realized that reading this book is not that laborious as it was back then because we know and understand the lectures in this book.

Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi
Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
This is the 1.5 book in the Shatter Me Series and I forgot how much of complicated Warner’s character is until I read this book. To be honest, I am not sure if I still like him after my reread of the first book. But this gives me an idea as to what I like about him. Plus, I like having a glimpse of Warner’s mind.
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
Rating: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
I love this book so much. All my doubt about this series was gone because of this book. Although we have yet to see the political system that is governing this world, we have an idea as to what happened in their world after the Reestablishment took over. But this is a very character driven story so there is not much world building going on. I love this book nonetheless. And thank Kenji and Warner for the ratings. But mostly Kenji and his scolding on Juliette to get her sh*t together.🤣
So that’s all for my recent reads. I hope you guys are health and safe wherever you are.
Happy new reading week everyone!
Until next time.
