“The art of letter writing. A profoundly… intimate thing, a letter, isn’t it?”

SYNOPSIS:

Tiffy Moore and Leon Twomey each have a problem and need a quick fix.

Tiffyโ€™s been dumped by her cheating boyfriend and urgently needs a new flat. But earning minimum wage at a quirky publishing house means that her choices are limited in London.

Leon, a palliative care nurse, is more concerned with other peopleโ€™s welfare than his own. Along with working night shifts looking after the terminally ill, his sole focus is on raising money to fight his brotherโ€™s unfair imprisonment.

Leon has a flat that he only uses 9 to 5. Tiffy works 9 to 5 and needs a place to sleep. The solution to their problems? To share a bed of course…

As Leon and Tiffyโ€™s unusual arrangement becomes a reality, they start to connect through Post-It notes left for each other around the flat.

Can true love blossom even in the unlikeliest of situations?
Can true love blossom even if you never see one another?
Or does true love blossom when you are least expecting it?

WWW Wednesday – 02262020

Hello friends! It’s that time of the week again where we talk about the books that we are currently reading, the books that we finished reading and the books that we are planning to read.

My reading week is not that good. I haven’t been reading a lot because I am re-watching my favorite Anime. But I hope this weekend will be different.

Anyway, I’ll stop the chitchat and get into talking about the books. So without further ado, let’s dive into it!

“What was history anyway but the lies of the winning few? Why was it worth protecting, when it forgot the starving child under siege, the slave woman on her deathbed, the man lost at sea? It was an imperfect record written by a biased hand, diluted to garner most agreement from competing parties.”

SYNOPSIS:

All Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expectedโ€”Julian Ironwood, the Grand Masterโ€™s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Ettaโ€™s past could put them both at risk.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.

As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizableโ€ฆ and might just run out on both of them.ย

SYNOPSIS:

Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is summoned to France after receiving a distressing letter with a urgent cry for help. Upon his arrival in Merlinville-sur-Mer, the investigator finds the man who penned the letter, the South American millionaire Monsieur Renauld, stabbed to death and his body flung into a freshly dug open grave on the golf course adjoining the property. Meanwhile the millionaire’s wife is found bound and gagged in her room. Apparently, it seems that Renauld and his wife were victims of a failed break-in, resulting in Renauld’s kidnapping and death.

There’s no lack of suspects: his wife, whose dagger served as the weapon; his embittered son, who would have killed for independence; and his mistress, who refused to be ignored – and each felt deserving of the dead man’s fortune. The police think they’ve found the culprit. But Poirot has his doubts. Why is the dead man wearing an overcoat that is too big for him? And who was the impassioned love-letter in the pocket for? Before Poirot can answer these questions, the case is turned upside down by the discovery of a second, identically murdered corpse…

January 2020 Wrap-up and Book Haul

I can’t believe that we only have 11 months left for the new year. Time surely flies when you are having a good time.

My 2020 reading year is doing quite well. I finally managed to find the jive in reading and working. I think it also helps that I worked from home 4 times a week and I only go to the office once a week. I have been doing a lot of reading with the help of audiobook and it is life changing.

With that being said I read a total of 8 books this month. Which is surprising! I have never read that much in a month and I am excited to share with you the books that I have read. So without further ado, let’s dive into the books!
