Hello everyone! It’s been so long since my last blog. Lots of changes happened in my life in the span of 3 months and I’m thankful for those changes. However, I am still adjusting and finding time to schedule blogging, reading and just relaxing. And as a part of those changes, I would only do quarterly book hauls because I am not hoarding as much books as I do before. And as a proof for that, I only accumulated 11 books in a span of 3 months. I’m so proud of myself!
So before I talk about other things that are not really related with my book haul, I would like to present to you the books that I acquired from January to March!

I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of the Shadowhunter world, or maybe just The Mortal Instrument, but I really enjoyed The Infernal Devices although I have yet to read the last book. But seeing this book in hardcover edition in my local bookstore and the price is the same with the paperback, I bought it on a whim. I regret nothing because the illustrations are so pretty. Plus, I am planning to read Lady Midnight some time soon.

I haven’t read the first book and I have heard mixed reviews about it. But I want to binge read this duology so I waited to have this baby in my shelf before reading the first one. And besides, this cover is gorgeous and in my favorite color. It looks more beautiful without its dust jacket!

If you haven’t guess by the URL of my blog that I am a fan of Laini Taylor, well now you know. And I take it as a goal to read all her books and TRY to have all of it on my shelf. You see, Laini Taylor is underrated in my country (which is lame), so I can’t find her other books before Daughter of Smoke and Bones Trilogy in my local bookstore. I ordered this book a year ago at the end of October and I only received it last January. Well that’s one less book to be frustrated about for being non-existent in my shelf and my local bookstore.

I did not buy this book. It’s from a book organization or something… and they reached out to me on Instagram and asked me if I want to participate in their project. I would definitely discuss their goals and other things about them in a separate blog. But I am so excited to read this because it would not only complete a bunch of things in my reading goals for this year but this would be a first book in this genre that I would read.

One of my most anticipated reads this 2017! Although I haven’t read it yet because I do not want to read it this early while the 4th book does not have a publishing date yet. But I’m hoping to get to it soon!

Last year, I managed to find The Lord of The Rings in hardcover format in a used bookstore for a very cheap price. And I saw someone selling this online and I am a little hesitant to buy this at first but seeing the maps, the illustrations, the cover and the book itself without its dust jacket I am happy that I bought this book. And an achievement because I am currently reading this book! I just finished a book when I bought it and immediately read it when I get home.

A perfect read for the Holiday season! I know that it’s too early to hoard books for Holiday reads but I just had to get this book because it’s on sale! The price of this book in my country before is $16 BUT I only bought it for $4! I want to read this and to have it on my shelf but it’s not that high on my priority list.

Well this book is more seasonal! I could already feel the summer heat here in my country! Plus, like My True Love Gave to Me, this book is on sale! From $20 to $10! I didn’t buy this as well. I asked my best friend to buy it for me as a super early birthday present!

I’ve heard about this book on YouTube but it’s not on my radar. But I saw it on a used bookstore and it’s only $3! And it’s in hardcover. I check the Goodreads review before buying this book and my Literature professor rated this book 5 stars which is rare for her! So I have to give this book a try!

I finally have this book in my possession. I almost give up with this trilogy because of this last book. A short story about this trilogy. I really like the covers and it’s about aliens and humans interacting together which made me want to read this. I bought the first and second book and I’m planning to binge read this trilogy when the last book comes out. But the last book was published by a different publisher and my local bookstore does not have any books from the same publisher which means that I need to order it online. But it is so pricey compared to the first two books! So I ask my aunt who lives in California to buy this book for me! And now they’re complete!

Of course I need to buy my most anticipated book of 2016, but the publishing date has been pushed back to early 2017. I may have wait a little longer than I should have but I am so happy that I finally have this in my hand! More Laini Taylor book for me!
That’s all for my January to March book haul! I’ll be posting long overdue book reviews soon and some book related stuff soon! Plus my quarterly wrap-up!
I hope you’re having a great day!
Till next time!
Maria ❤
