I know I’m not the only one who has been watching bookTube. And this book tag has been circulating in bookTube for almost a year now. This tag was created by TheBookArcher on YouTube. (Click her username to watched her Unpopular Opinion Book Tag video.) I’ve always seen this tag and I’ve been meaning to do it for quite some time now. And today I’ve decided that this is the right time to do it. I’m bringing the Unpopular Opinion Book Tag here on WordPress for all the book blogger out there!
Before starting this tag, I would like to say that the answer that I’ll be providing below is mine and mine alone. We may or may not share the same opinion but please don’t hate me. 😀 Now let’s proceed to the questions!
1. A popular book or series that you didn’t like.

The Mortal Instrument. I somehow enjoyed the first three book in this series and I managed to read up until the fourth book. The thing is, this series is much better if it is a trilogy. The ending of the third book is enough and as I was reading the fourth book I feel like it is a filler for the series. The pace is very slow, the story keeps on dragging until the series can be connected to The Infernal Devices, just so they can be interwoven with the series. Which is why I decided to stop reading this whole series.
2. A popular book or series that everyone else seems to hate but you love.

The Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie. I almost wrote Divergent but weighting the amount of hate between this and the Divergent, this trilogy has more haters than lovers. When I was on my “dystopian era”, I really enjoyed this trilogy, although I think the story is dragged just so it can be called a trilogy. But if this would be combined with one book and the author would take away the unnecessary parts, this would be very good. There is potential in this trilogy and I just wish that the author focuses more on the world building than the romance. I’m not really planning to reread it ever again BUT I really enjoy it and no shame for that. It’s like enjoying any vampire related books after a Twilight Saga hangover, which in my case is a dystopian hangover.
3. A love triangle where the main character ended up with the person you did NOT want them to end up with or an OTP that you didn’t like.
Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Song Covey. If you’ve read the P.S. I Still Love You, you will know why. I have another OTP for Lara Jean. I don’t want to spoil anything but… JAM all the way!!
4. A popular book Genre that you hardly reach for.
Erotica. I’m really not a fan and I haven’t tried any books in this genre but I’m not saying that I will not read books from this genre. Maybe in the near future.
5. A popular or beloved character that you do not like.
Sansa Stark. I’m only in book one of A Song of Ice and Fire series (and I haven’t finished it) BUT I’m very frustrated with this girl! She is very annoying! (Will not spoil you anything but UGH!) I wouldn’t want her to be my sister EVER. Her character may develop in the next books of this series but for now, I LOATHE HER. I hate her chapters in A Game of Thrones especially towards the end. We’ll see on the next books if I’ll change my mind about her.
6. A popular author that you can’t seem to get into.
Sarah J. Maas. I tried reading the Throne of Glass about a year ago but I didn’t even finish the first chapter. I don’t know if it’s her writing style or the story but I set it aside and I haven’t got around to picking it up again, but maybe in the near future. But I’ll probably try her ACOTR first.
7. A popular book tropes that you’re tired of seeing.
I should probably create a separate blog for this because I have tons of book trope that I’m tired of seeing. But I choose the most annoying book trope ever. When the parents or someone hides the protagonist from her real world because she is the chosen one and she has no idea of who she really is and that she has a super power. I hate this trope so much! (Although I love it when Laini Taylor did it.) You can predict the plot of the book because of this trope. She will discover who she really is, she will be drag back to her world, she will be powerful when she gets the hang of her power and then she will dominate and crush the enemy by her awesomeness. I’m not saying that this ALWAYS happen but it MOSTLY happens.
8. A popular series that you have no interest in reading.
Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. No need to explain this.
9. The saying goes “the book is better than the movie”, but what movie of TV show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?
Mockingjay. I love the book but I love the movie more. The book revolves around Katniss’s point of view alone but the movie shows the things that are going on outside Katniss’s head and inside the capitol and the revolution. Although at some point the movie does not capture the weight of a scene more than it did in the book, but its fine in my opinion.
That’s all the questions in this book tag! I’m tagging you (the one who is reading this blog post)! I may have tagged all my followers but I don’t know how. I’m sorry. 😦
Also, I’m grabbing pictures from Google and putting credits for it because I don’t have a copy of those books.
Anyways, I’ll end this post and bid you goodbye for now. Hope to see your Unpopular Opinion Book Tag as well! 🙂
I COULDN’T EVEN GET THROUGH THE FIRST TWO PAGES OF THRONE OF GLASS. but A Court of Thorns and Roses is the boss. But how dare you say you like the hunger games movies more?! *clutches heart* 🙂

I mean the Mockingjay! I just like how they portray the other side of the story showing the rebellion. 🙂
